---Sidearms---
Fort-12mk2
A semi-automatic 9x18mm pistol. The weapon is primarily used by rookie Loners and Bandits along with experienced Duty members. It is also used by a few veteran and expert members of the Military faction.
Silenced PB1s
This pistol is a semi automatic silenced variant of the MakarovPM. It uses the standard 9x18mm ammunition for pistols. It is the exact same as the Makarov PMm, but with the integrated silencer on the barrel of the pistol.
makarov pmm
A soviet made, semi-automatic 9x18mm pistol. The Makarov is the standard issue sidearm for the Military and rookie Duty members, and it is widely used by rookie Loners, Bandits and Renegades. The weapon is exceptionally light and durable, but lacks considerable stopping power and is not very accurate.
Walker 9x18mm
This is a variant of the Walker P9m pistol, it is semi automatic and modified to fire 9x18mm rounds.
Walker p9m
This is a German made pistol. It is semi automatic, It uses 9x19 rounds which are quite easy to obtain nearly anywhere, however it doesn't have much firepower and is advised only to be used as a sidearm, not a primary weapon. The gun and its ammo are very lightweight, making it a preferable handgun for one who doesn't use a handgun frequently.
hpss-1m
The pistol was initially designed by John Browning in 1921 and finalized by Dieudonné Saive of Fabrique Nationale after Browning's death. The weapon was revolutionary at the time of it's creation, holding a (at the time) very large magazine capacity of 13 rounds. The weapon is one of the most widely used military weapons in history, first being used in World War II. It is a single action, semi automatic pistol with a metal frame. It fires a 9x19mm cartridge at around 240 rounds per minute.
black kite
A unique variant of Magnum Research's Desert Eagle, the Black Kite is a semi automatic .45 caliber handgun. The Desert Eagle is uncommon in the Zone, and found only in a few locations and sold only by a few traders.
kora-919
A special variant of the US army 1911 sidearm, this is a .45 ACP semi automatic pistol. The Kora could be considered the 'entry-level' .45 pistol. It is a balanced sidearm, combining good firepower and durability. Due to its robust design, it is always the most durable pistol .45 caliber pistol in all games, although usually having mediocre stats for its class.
sip-t m200
It is featured in all STALKER games but is usually quite rare, being used primarily by Duty Experts and Mercenaries. A .45 ACP handgun, the SIP-t M200 is a good all-round sidearm. It is relatively lightweight and durable, with good handling, accuracy and stopping power. One interesting detail is that the gun is equipped with night sights which dimly glow in low-light conditions, making it easier to aim.
udp Compact
In Shadow of Chernobyl, the UDP is heavily employed by veteran and Expert Freedom members as their sidearm and sold exclusively by Skinflint. The USP Compact has significantly better firing rate compared to other .45 caliber pistols and very light, weighing less than 1.00kg.
However the UDP seems to be susceptible to jamming, which makes it slightly unreliable in extended firefights.
However the UDP seems to be susceptible to jamming, which makes it slightly unreliable in extended firefights.
big ben
A modified version of the Black Kite, designed to fire a very large 9x39mm cartridge from a 8 round clip. This pistol is semi automatic, and aside from the cartridge size, it is most exactly the same as the Black Kite.
---Shotguns---
sawn-off double barrel shotgun
One of the first weapons you obtain ingame, with very low accuracy (being a shotgun) and low range (again, being a shotgun.) It does, however, have a VERY high damage output being able to instantly kill just about anyone who opposes you, if you can get close enough, that is. Three types of ammo can be used for it, being the 12x70 Buckshot, 12x76 Slug, and 12x76 Dart.
hunting shotgun
The hunting shotgun is an over/under style hunting shotgun designed by N. I. Korovyakov and V. P. Ochnev in 1965 for TOZ (Tulsky oruzheiny zavod, or Tula Arms Plant) in Tula municipal district, Russia. It's affordable price and high damage output make it a popular weapon for rookies around the Zone. It also has the ability to unload both rounds almost instantly. It can use the same ammunition the Double Barrel (Above) can use.
Chaser 13
The Chaser is the lightest combat shotgun available, with it's high close range damage, cheap upgrades, light weight and very high durability, it becomes one of the more economical back-up CQC weapons the player can carry. It is a pump action shotgun that can hold 6 rounds at once.
SPSA-14
Known in real-life as the Franchi Spas-12, this double action shotgun can fire in pump-action or semi auto. It has a 8 round ammo "tube" in which the ammo is held. The SPSA14 is relatively unpopular, because other weapons like assault rifles have better damage over range, but it is still popular with some players and is generally considered as an improvement over the Sawn off double barrel shotgun. It is a great weapon against mutants, so one might want to take one into X16 if one is found.
eliminator
A 12 round capacity shotgun that can either use slug or buckshot, and it is semi-automatic. This is a very popular choice among players, as it has a high damage output along with its semi-automatic feature.
---Sub-machine guns---
Viper 5
A fairly early weapon to obtain in the game, the Viper 5 uses 9x19MM ammunition, is fully automatic, and has a fairly nice damage output. It is rather inaccurate, but is a good starter gun for new players. It has a 30 round magazine, but does jam fairly often if not in good condition.
frasier
A unique version of the Viper 5 (listed above.) It has been modified to fire a .45 ACP round from a 30 round magazine. This gun is an improvement from the Viper 5, as it has greater accuracy, power, and rate of fire.
viper 5 9x18mm
Yet another modified version of the Viper 5, modified to fire the very common 9x18mm pistol round. By using a smaller round, recoil is reduced, but so is accuracy, damage, and rate of fire.
---Assault rifles---
"Tunder" 5.45
Using a 5.45x39mm, this fully automatic assault rifle has extreme damage, accuracy, and rate of fire. It has a 20 round clip, and fires at around 700-800 rounds per minute. When the player picks it up, it already comes equipped with the M203 barrel mounted grenade launcher.
AKM-74/2
In the Zone, the AKS-74 is a very common assault rifle used by both the Military and Stalkers alike. Chambered for the common 5.45×39mm ammunition, the weapon is relatively light and durable, but it has fairly high recoil and tends to be inaccurate when shooting at distant targets. The weapon features a synthetic olive drab polymer foregrip, a Bulgarian waffle-style magazine and a folding skeletal stock.
AKm-74/2u
A carbine version of the above rifle, the AKM-74/2U is overall underpowered. It's has the lowest accuracy and damage rating for any assault rifle in the game, but it is light due to it's compact nature, and boasts very good handling, coupled with an above average rate of fire. These two advantages make this weapon the most easy-to-handle rifle in the game, as even when firing at full auto, the weapon remains largely easy to control at close to mid range.
AC-96/2
This weapon is found in all the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. It uses 5.45×39mm rounds, can be mounted with a PSO-1 scope, and a GP-25 underbarrel grenade launcher (it does not accept the GP-25 in SoC). The weapon has three selective firing modes: it can fire in single shots, a 2 shot burst or full auto. The weapon makes use of the standard synthetic stock and all metal accessories. It has surprisingly low durability, starting to jam early at 75%.
ft-200m
The FT-200M is one of the best assault rifles the player can acquire in the game. It has a permanent 1.6x scope attachment as well as a fixed grenade launcher attachment. In the arena however, there is one expert stalker armed with an FT-200M where one will have to kill him using nothing but four F1 grenades and a knife.
Gp-37
The GP-37 is commonly used by Freedom and Monolith experts based in the Army Warehouses, Red Forest, Pripyat and on the outskirts of the Chernobyl NPP. It has above-average accuracy, and has medium to low recoil, making its scope very useful.
IL 86
The IL 86 is slightly less accurate than other assault rifles like the TRs-301 and SGi-5k, and is the heaviest assault rifle available (weighing it at 5.0kg unloaded) but sports above average durability (jamming commonly after it goes past 70% though) and damage compared to the equally available TRs-301.
SGI-5k
Manufactured by Swiss Arms AG., the SGi-5k is the weapon of choice for veteran and expert Freedom stalkers in the zone. In all games, the SGI one of the most durable, powerful and accurate assault rifles in the game and a jack-of-all-trades type of assault rifle, although heavier than most with it weighing at 4.1kg (empty) and around 4.3kg (fully loaded). The weapon uses 5.56mm rounds.
TRs 301
The rifle can be fitted with a SUSAT scope, an under-barrel M203 grenade launcher and a silencer. Since every weapon in Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl has quite good reliability (it's because there is no way to repair damaged weapon), LR-300 is quite reliable too (at least it's much better than in other games). Thanks to it LR-300 is one of best weapons available in game (especially when you manage to find one in top condition) due to very good accuracy (a little better even that G36), enough stopping power and low weight. With this advantages LR-300 is good enough even in Chernobyl NPP but you will not want to shoot with it in automatic mode if you don't want to swap to SIG SG-550 or G36 due to LR-300 being too damaged to use.
Tunder s14
The type featured in all games is the OTs-14 Groza-9/40s, though one of the original designs, the Groza-5.45/40, appears as a unique weapon in Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat. The variant of the Groza used in all games is the OTs-14-4A, which is the standard rifle with an underbarrel grenade launcher installed by default. The weapon uses all types of 9×39mm rounds and the grenade launcher uses VOG-25 and VOG-25P 40mm grenade shells.
SA Avalanche
This weapon is the personal weapon of Colonel Skull, and a few Monolith experts who will attack the barrier in the Military warehouses. It is also sometimes used by Spetsnaz units. The VLA Special Assault Rifle is sold by the Barkeep on rare occasions, as well as Petrenko once the player achieves a good status with Duty. It cannot mount a scope though a custom one called Sniper VLA can mount a PSO-1 scope. Oddly, the weapon exhibits absurdly high recoil when firing full-automatic (about twice as much as other assault rifles), so it is not recommended for use at medium-long range fire.
---Machine Gun---
rp-74
The RP-74 may be able to decimate anything in its line of fire; however, it has a terribly high recoil, woefully bad handling and is extremely heavy. It's also the most expensive weapon to maintain and upgrading it is an expensive affair as well.
It should be noted that when the RP-74 is held, turning speed is noticeably reduced and one is unable to sprint which makes the weapon hard to handle against fast-moving enemies. The RP-74 also cannot use it's iron sights, which prompts one to either take accurate bursts at distant targets or mow them down in the hopes of scoring a hit.

---Sniper Rifles---
gauss rifle
Unlike traditional firearms, the Gauss Gun does not launch projectiles using combustion, but rather uses a series of electromagnets powered by fragments of a Flash artifact to fire special, ferromagnetic slugs at high speeds, capable of completely ignoring protective armor, even the armor of the Exoskeleton cannot stop a Gauss round at any range.
svdm-2_
The SVD is used by Monolith snipers on the pathway through the Red Forest, although according to its description it is also used by mutant hunters of Duty Despite the latter description, Duty members never field the rifle here, or in any STALKER game for that matter. Colonel Petrenko may sometimes sells it for 600000 Ru.
svumk-2
The SVU is a 7.62x54mm compact sniper rifle, it is primarily for either a one who needs a compact yet powerful sniper weapon or for urban firefights, where its short size will be more of an asset than a hindrance. Compared to its larger cousin the SVD, the SVU has shorter effective range, slightly lower damage, and accuracy, but is noticeably lighter than it, has less recoil, and still packs a sizable punch due to its large caliber.
Vintar BC
The Vintar BC is an automatic sniper rifle with an integral suppressor that uses 9×39mm ammo. It has high armor-piercing ability but its range is actually worse than that of most rifles due to its low-velocity subsonic rounds, which have considerable drop that must be factored in when firing at longer ranges. However, when used within its effective range it is a very powerful and accurate weapon. It is fairly light (as a sniper rifle), easy to handle, and has good accuracy and is generally cheaper to maintain and upgrade than the SVD Dragunov or assault rifles converted for sniper use. In addition, its 8x magnification scope is superior to those of assault rifles, which only upgrade to 4x magnification. A drawback is its small 10-round magazine (causing the need to reload frequently in automatic fire), which can be upgraded to hold 15 rounds. Despite these drawbacks, it is arguably the only sniper rifle in the game that can be effective when used properly at close ranges (high damage + high automatic fire rate).
---Grenade launchers---
bulldog 6
The Bulldog 6 is the only stand-alone grenade launcher featured in the entire S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and it's a rare weapon in all cases. The weapon is invaluable for short-medium range rapid bombardment and flushing out troop concentrations. Its major drawback is that it has by far the slowest reloading time out of any weapon, especially when expending out all six grenades. Getting caught in a fight with other stalkers and/or mutants (such as the Chimera) while reloading this weapon can get you killed quickly. One will need to practice how to use the weapon effectively at all ranges as its ability to rapidly launch 6 grenades is an invaluable asset.
rpg-7u
In the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, it is the only rocket launcher to be featured and it is a very rare weapon, best for taking out vehicles you might meet in the game and flushing out large troop concentrations. It rarely appears in any of the games, understandably however, because of its devastating power, scarce ammunition and general lack of suitable targets. Also note that the RPG's rockets are not 100% accurate and there is a good chance it will miss small targets at long range, even if the sight is dead-centered on target.
