---Tier one armor---
leather jacket
The leather jacket does not provide sufficient protection from the Zone's harsh conditions, since it's simply a leather jacket with blue trousers tucked into hiking boots. Typically, it's also worn with a backpack with extra straps across the chest. Leather offers little protection from gunfire or claws and it's absolutely useless against radiation or anomalies.
bandit jacket
The jacket consists of a black leather anorak with kevlar patches sewn into it and blue tracksuit pants (apparently from a fake Adidas tracksuit) tucked into white running shoes and a beige hoodie worn underneath. Typically, it's also worn with a backpack with extra straps across the chest.
trenchcoat
A regular black leather trench coat. Has no special purpose other than to keep the wearer warm at night or protect from a blind dog bite. Although the trench coat is not particularly comfortable, it is often used by Bandits in the Zone - either because it allows them to hide in the dark or simply due to its "cool" appearance.
mercenary suit
The mercenary suit consists of a navy blue jumpsuit (although some mercenaries might opt for an urban camouflage pattern), an European-pattern tactical vest (also used with woodland camouflage) and a gas mask (based on the XM40 model). It also comes with the standard belt-mounted pistol holster and carrying pouch.
When not wearing a gas mask, users of the merc suit will typically wear a balaclava or a similiar type of mask.

---TIER TWo---
sunrise suit
It is an effective combination of a light military bulletproof vest and a jumpsuit made out of rubberized fabric. It is reinforced with inserted kevlar plates and provides low levels of protection. It is most popular among Loners, the suit has achieved status as a symbol for stalkers and for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games altogether.
berill-5m armored suit
In Shadow of Chernobyl, the Berill is a particularly durable suit and very resistant to firearm damage. Its only drawbacks are its below-average anomaly protection and weight. It is equipped with first-generation night vision.
SSp-99 Ecologist suit
The SSP-99 suit has an integrated air-filtering and air-conditioning system with the main body of the suit made out of materials that are heat and electricity resistant, providing near-invulnerability to radiation and anomalies. For additional protection, the suits are treated with a special substance obtained from Urchin artifacts.
It also includes a second generation night vision device. However, since this suit was designed to protect the wearer from hazardous and toxic elements it could encounter and not from firearms, it has very low protection against firearms and explosives.

Monolith Suit
Created by an unknown manufacturer, this suit consists of a splinter pattern urban camouflage radiation suit/battledress uniform with arm, elbow and kneepads of reinforced leather, a green tactical vest with carrying pouches and a mounting place for either two oxygen tanks, a backpack or a closed-circuit Curtain helmet life support system. The vest's protection is slightly worse than that of a PSZ-7a military bulletproof vest.
wind of freedom suit
A light stalker suit produced by Freedom, the Wind of Freedom consists of a light military bulletproof vest with reinforced Kevlar plates, carried over pseudo-flecktarn camouflaged jacket and pants.
The fabric of the suit is treated with a special mixture called Horizon which increases anomaly resistance.
It comes with two oxygen tanks and a breathing mask.

Guardian of freedom suit
Created in the image of the stalker suit, this reinforced armour is composed of an altered German flecktarn camouflage pattern jumpsuit integrated with a medium military bulletproof vest with additional reinforcing zirconium elements, providing good protection at medium to long ranges. The jumpsuit itself is double-layered, with specially treated leather and asbestos yarn providing good protection from radiation and weak anomalies.
psz-9d duty suit
Produced by one of Kiev's defense research institutes and commissioned by the Duty faction, the PSZ-9d is as simple and reliable as the standard PS5-M model, but due to new materials used in its manufacture, it provides good protection from various harmful impacts, including firearm damage. The vest still needs some work because it has no breathing protection system and does not have a Night vision module.
PS5-M Universal protection
This suit is a modernized version of the standard Duty suit, providing good anomaly protection, unlike the PSZ series units. Its bulletproof vest can stop a pistol round or two.
This suit is typically issued to Duty recruits and rank-and-file members. Higher ranking Dutyers will usually opt for either a PSZ-9Md Universal Protection suit or a PSZ-9d Duty armor suit.

Cs-1 body armor
The CS-1 consists of a tactical vest (with medium grade military kevlar) with carrying pouches and a tactical helmet with a gas mask and large goggles, carried over a sky blue/white camouflage shirt and dark pants with metal kneepads and hiking boots. Heavier, kevlar-padded panels are added to the arms and legs to increase the protective performance. The chest rig appers to be a modified version of the Soviet made M32 chest rig that has been attatched to the body armour. All that is missing is the grenade pouches, which appear to be located on the legs of the wearer, or at least it would seem this way from viewing the in-game character models.
cs-3a body armor
This basic outfit consists of a jacket with a sky-blue/white camouflage pattern with a hood drawn over the head, a black cowl, a tactical vest, grey pants, kneepads and hiking boots.
It was designed for conducting search operations in areas of low anomalous activity. Its higher quality materials result in greater durability. Includes a container capable of holding one artifact.
It is used by Clear Sky scouts and command.

cs-3a body armor
The CS-3a consists of a tactical vest (with medium grade military kevlar) with carrying pouches, carried over a sky blue/white camouflage shirt and dark pants with metal kneepads and hiking boots. Heavier, kevlar-padded panels are added to the arms and legs to increase the protective performance.
ssp-99m suit
This suit is a high quality modified SSP-99 suit. It provides increased body protection from bullets and splinters, as it was designed for guards working with scientific expeditions. This suit comprises a closed-cycle breathing module and an integrated anomalous field suppression system. Anomaly and radiation protection is equal to that of the SSP-99 suit, making the two unmatched in those terms. This suit provides bullet protection equal to that of the SEVA Suit, but offers better explosion protection and higher durability, and it even weighs less. All of this combined with a second generation night vision device make it one of the very best suits in the Zone.
seva suit
Created by one of Kiev's defence research institutes, the SEVA suit represents the pinnacle of personal protection technology available for neutral stalkers. Combining a lightweight bulletproof vest, closed cycle breathing system, and an integrated anomalous field suppression device, the SEVA suit will allow a stalker to last more than just a few days in the Zone.
psz-9md Universal protection
The PSZ-9Md is a wonderful protective suit for the Zone, popular among Duty veterans. It combines excellent anomaly protection (thanks to the Curtain helmet with an integrated life support system and an anomaly suppression device) and a high quality PSZ-9d Duty suit, which grants quality protection from bullets, shrapnel and animal claws.
psz-9d duty armor
This early model of the Duty bodysuit is a Spetsnaz PSZ-9 body armor modified for the Zone and a Sphere-12M helmet. The suit is capable of stopping a rifle bullet, however, this level of protection comes at the cost of its weight, bulkiness and virtually non-existent anomaly protection. The suit cannot be modified with an artifact container, but may be upgraded with a combat support system.
Skat-9m Military armored suit
The Skat-9M is a heavy duty armoured suit used by the Ukrainian military and stalkers hired by it. It is composed of a vest with PSZ-12p armour, a built-in anomaly compensation suit and a Sphere-12 helmet. It is second only to the exoskeleton in terms of protection.
This suit became the military's equivalent of the Exoskeleton due to the former's high cost and numerous problems during it's concept stages: it was never issued to them. While not as durable and as protective as the Exoskeleton, intensive training of the wearers and superior armaments gives the wearer an edge over stalkers wearing Exoskeletons. The Bulat is only fielded by expert operators of the Spetsnaz.

skat-9 military armoed suit
The Skat-9 military armoured suit is another armour built in the same line as the Skat-9M military armoured suit, allowing greater mobility at the expense of protection.
It is very similar to in overall shape to the Skat-9M military armoured suit that succeeded it. It is distinctively different, as instead of grey urban camo, it features an European woodland pattern and instead of a tactical vest, an armoured breastplate on the front.

exoskeleton
The armour is the product of advanced military research, initially meant for use by the Ukrainian Military for hazardous missions into the Zone. Due to the sheer cost of a single unit, however, as well as the numerous technical problems and design flaws, the Exoskeleton never reached mass production, but limited numbers continue to be manufactured in underground factories and make their way into the Zone. They were however not designed for the Zone, nor the Zone's hazards, rendering it a less reliable type of protection against anomalies and radiation.
